Michelangelo’s is a trusted and well-patronized Italian restaurant, whose kitchens are run by a passionate team of chefs who have passed the stringent tests of its celebrated and demanding Italian Chef.

We are a team of F&B professionals who desire to bring you fresh, delicious and flavorful authentic Italian food in a trendy and upscale casual setting, with a friendly and sincere service.

We launched our flagship store in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in 2007. With an instant success and quick acceptance by the consumers in Kuala Lumpur, the second store followed in 2008 in the trendy development of Solaris Mont Kiara. Both the stores serve the same menu and we intend to keep it that way, restricting the growth in the number of the stores so that they remain unique and treasured.

However, we continue to travel the world, discussing and exchanging views with chefs and F&B practitioners the world over and researching on what and how we can bring new culinary ideas and dining and wining experience to you.

Our Mission is to be at the forefront of the F&B scene and to bring you the best there is to offer in terms of food, service, ambience, which ultimately completes a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience for you.

What’s In The Name?

Many people have asked why we chose the name “Michelangelo’s” for our restaurants.

Well, first thing first, we do not want you to second guess what kind of food we serve. Michelangelo is known throughout the world as the famed artist and sculptor hailed from Italy. We think Michelangelo is a name that can represent Italy. Therefore, when we name our restaurants Michelangelo’s, you will know straight away that we serve Italian food!

Secondly, we want you to tell your friends about us. If you cannot pronounce the name, especially an Italian name, how are you going to remember us and tell your friends about us? So, we chose a name which can be so easily pronounced and remembered.

Thirdly and probably the most important of all, to us, dining is an art, not just eating and getting rid of your hunger pangs. It is an art of enjoyment, appreciation, sharing and loving. We see all these elements in Michelangelo’s art pieces and thought we share all these beautiful elements in what we want our restaurants to present. These artistic characteristics present us the opportunity to introduce arts into our food and also the setting and ambience of our stores. It’s a perfect match!

The Ambience

Michelangelo’s Restaurant @ Pavilion KL

As this restaurant is located in the heart of the metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur, in the hustle and bustle sidewalk of the most popular upscale shopping mall in KL, the ambience caters to the sophisticated and elegant city shoppers, executives and tourists from all over the world. Here, we have created a gorgeous and charming ambience reminiscent of the renaissance theme. The centerpiece iconic picture that represents an important element of the design of a Michelangelo’s establishment is none other than the famous painting of the Sistine Chapel’s “Creation of Adam” by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti. Here, we have the painting presented in natural marble stones. In addition, this store also features a number of sculptures that are painstakingly created by very talented sculptors. This restaurant ensures you have a choice of an alfresco seating along the busy street, best for people watching, a bar area for a more casual dining and wining experience and a more formal dining space where you can enjoy a quiet meal in an elegant setting while still able to partake in the busy street outside through the huge glass window.

Michelangelo’s Restaurant @ Solaris Mont Kiara

This restaurant is situated in the high-end suburb of Mont Kiara, at the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur. This restaurant aims to cater to the needs and fancies of the people working in and residing in the upscale Mont Kiara suburb. Many of the customers here are expatriates who live in Mont Kiara as well as locals who appreciate delicious and authentic Italian meals. The ambiance is less formal but cozy and contemporary. Many enjoy sheltered alfresco seating.


Our aim is not only to provide you with a first-class menu at reasonable prices but also offers quality food and service.

The quality control in our establishments start with selecting only reputable suppliers of fresh ingredients who have proven records of safe and hygienic supply chain management systems, and from our ingredient storage, usage and preparation up to your table.

We place stringent control and management of our food preparation as well as hygiene of kitchen utensils, equipment and the people who work in the restaurants. This is as much a philosophy and a culture at our establishments. As the saying goes, “you are what you eat” !

Our Director – Chef Paolo Pala


Chef Paolo Pala was born and raised in Orroli, a village situated 800 meters above sea level on the island of Sardinia in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea.

With over 50 years experience in cooking and managing professional kitchens and restaurants, his journey took him from Milan to Manchester, back to Sardinia and to Kuala Lumpur. Bringing his style of real Italian comfort food to Michelangelo’s Restaurants as well as developing a team of talented and dedicated Chefs, the team has been able to perfect the dishes while staying true to Michelangelo’s philosophy.
